Musical Performance/House Concert/Workshop
Can music inspired a feeling of Oneness? love, vulnerability, joy, acceptance and compassion.
Some people shared their experience listening to Shai & Sagit's duo as feeling "light, peace and calmness"
When Shai Portugaly and Sagit Zilberman play together, the music and love flows.
In their 50-70 minutes set, they combine instruments and styles: the HandPan with the magical sound, piano sounds and special harmonies, voices, saxophone, percussions, and new original and songs from their hearts.
Recently, they performed for a group of about 70 people at the St. Botolph club in Commonwealth Ave. in Boston and the responses they received were speaking about love and light that they omitted through their music and message. Shira Stern (Isaac Stern's daughter and an established Rabbi and writer) commented that they exuded light and a message of peace as they played.
Shira: "Sagit & Shai, I can still see the light in your faces as you played the other night. Sagit, you seamlessly moved from one instrument to another, introducing us to sounds we hadn't heard but loved when we did, Shai, you were instrumental in showing how much creativity and talent Israel has to offer. When David (Homan, Executive Director, American Israel Cultural Foundation) spoke about the incredible richness of Israeli talent, and described the spectrum of musical expression, you both were perfect examples. Thank you for helping the AICF showcase the results of all of our efforts."
- Shira Stern, Rabbinic Associate at Rodeph Torah Synagogue in NJ, Doctor of Ministry, writer, educator, and Issac Stern’s daughter, at an AICF event last week.
